Book Review : Kanishka by Manoj Krisnan

Blurb

It was a great surprise for Nilesh when Dr. Sudarshan Rao chose him for surveying the long abandoned archaeological site in Mathura. He and his colleague, Sushmita Banerjee in Indian Archaeological Council, arrive in the city where they found that the place had hidden a dark secret which could change their lives forever. This novel is about the timeless journey that unravels the greatest mystery entwined in the game of Love, lust, hatred and revenge like never before..

REVIEW

I must say this is an amazing work by Manoj Krisnan. The book has indeed come up with flying colors. I really appreciate the fact that the author has chosen such a different topic! I really love it, how Indian authors are coming up with new themes and Kanishka is indeed one of those stories which leaves a deep impact on the mind of the readers..

This is a historical thriller/fiction with the perfect blend of revenge, hatred, passion! It's the fondness for history that leads the protagonist to a land of hidden secret. The suspense element is wonderful! The story indeed harbours an uncanny ability to keep the reader glued till the end and make him/her contemplate the deeper meanings.

Characterization is one of the most striking features of the novel. While reading you can actually feel yourself being a part of the novel! The title is good. The blurb is short and sweet! The language is very nice. The theme and plot are so gripping... The cover could have been better though!
