"Sawat, I want to go into the water..."

Phuket, Thailand, seemed to be the perfect getaway choice for twenty-two year-old Calum Armstrong. What he saw, and did on that holiday proves to have far-reaching consequences; not only for himself but also for those closest to him.

In Germany, uncompromising Frankfurt detective, Otto Netzer, is leading the manhunt for a brutal serial killer who preys on heavily-pregnant women...

Neither Calum, nor the killer, yet realize that their destiny lies in the hands of a mythical creature who resides beneath the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea.

Intriguing and exotic, Kevin Ansbro's novel explores how our actions can come back to haunt us in the most unexpected ways.

Review

I am a huge fan of descriptive stories and this story has already created a special place in my heart. Abanindranath Tagore's beautiful landscapes painted with words have indeed made every Bengali heart grow fond of descriptive stories. I would like to thank the author for presenting such a wonderful story with vivid descriptions to his readers. The story cannot be classified into any particular genre. Rather it consists of episodes which are based on different themes like love, friendship, crime thriller and fantasy.

This book is basically stories within a story, with so many different episodes finding a common connection in the end. The teenage love between Calum and Hannah looks so cute and real and definitely is a portrait of what you call true love. The friendship between Calum and Sawat is deeper than one can actually imagine. The vivid descriptions of Thailand thrilled me to the core. The crime thriller episode was no doubt nail biting and I actually liked the peculiar nature of the criminal. Then of course, the appearance of the Kinnara. His description created an ambience of serenity within my mind. In the end, the open ends of the story meet together to make a complete circle.

The suspense element kept me glued to the story till the end. The unexpected twists and turns added a charm to the story. Concepts such as immortality of the soul and the ultimacy of the Karma have added a philosophical touch to the story.

The plot is well chosen. The storyline is strong enough to keep the readers hooked to the story. The wonderful narration added a charm to the story. The different episodes have been organized so well that it helps to maintain a steady pace throughout. The language is simple and lucid. I especially appreciate the wise use of vocabulary.

Overall this has been an enthralling read which left a deep and long lasting impact on my mind. Looking forward to read more from the author.
